A little bit about Tactical Advantage Armory...
in 2013 while fine tuning my latest bench-rest build I was frustrated that no one made a muzzle brake anything like what I was looking for. After searching site after site and going thru page after page I realized the same 3 brake designs were being rehashed over and over again by everybody. In that moment I decided I was going to make what I wanted since the same old same old wouldn't do. So I began roughing out the design in my head by simply doodling outlines of ports and cuts with a sharpie on an aluminum bar. A quick self taught machining lesson in a buddies garage and next thing I knew I had my idea mounted on the front of my rifle. I nervously took my rifle to the range not knowing exactly how this was going to go since what I had made was nothing like the traditional designs everybody seems to use. so lining up behind my rifle and saying the last, "please don't explode in my face...", I put the glass on target and dropped the hammer. The rifle fired and out of habbit i got eyes back on target to confirm the shot. It was a hit. I cleared the rifle and began inspecting the muzzle. There was no baffle strikes and everything looked good. Loaded up 5 more rounds and let them fly. While at the time I had no way of testing it, I was sure my rifle was kicking less than with the old 3 port it previously had and the concussion was noticably lower. I couldn't have been happier. A little later in the day and me almost out of ammo, a guy a couple lanes down that had been there a while came waling over. He introduced himself and went on to say he really liked the brake on my rifle and had never seen one like it before and was curious where I bought it from. After explaining I I made it and it was the only one he began saying I really need to make him one and asking how much it was going to cost. That day, Tactical Advantage Armory was born...
After the first try went so well and seeing there might be an interest from others for my work I started looking into what I needed to do this for real. I dove into learning cad/cam on my own after working the day job. I spent all my free time getting the ideas in my head into real designs. What time I didn't spend on that was dedicated to learning everything I could about machining. I was determined to make the most unique highly functional brakes and comps on the market and wanted to push the boundaries enough to force the existing manufacturers to step their game up. Back then, I was the first person to bring a titanium muzzle brake to market when my 1st BR series brake sold on eBay for $250. Every machinist and gun manufacturer I talked to told me no one would be interested in a Ti muzzle device because of the material cost and machine times. I ignored them because I believed that Ti was the best material option due to its weight, durability, and thermal properties knowing that if I did my job good enough people would be willing to pay for the quality. Fast forward several years and theres a new trend of Ti muzzle devices and everybody seems to be putting a little more time into their designs and i couldn't bee more thrilled. despite social media account being shut down for no reason and payment processors pulling the plug whenever they felt like it the uphill battle continues and I still try to bring new and innovative designs to market. I will continue to grow the company the best I can with the support from all of those in the community willing to give me a shot. And for all of that support I thank you. I know this page is kind of a ramble but I wanted my customers to know that I'm just a guy who loves guns and shooting. A lot of times people think I am some big company because of the work that goes into my parts, but I'm just a small one man operation here that started out in the garage and has big dreams for the future.
